Week two (2), Infections Control.
This week we did some reviews and quiz, all went well. We covered chapter 5,6,7,8 and quiz for 5,6,7 and 8.

In these chapters we learned the causes of diseases in dental settings, how diseases are prevented and transmitted. Also we learned about OSHA,PPE, disinfection techniques, disinfectants, sterilization, barriers to protect the spread and infection of dental offices and operatory. Type of waste were defined and how waste can be treated and disposed.

On Thursday of week two was our clinical/practical application of Coronal polishing, charting each others teeth and Placing rubber dam.

Attached are some pictures and videos to show my classmates demonstrations in the clinical setting . In the background remember, Monica and Kelly are with us to lend fabulous hand. Our attachment and admiration to two instructors, kept growing week after week. At the end of each class, is like wow!! A real indication as how we are going to miss each other before the next class. This kind of excitement is keep us both and to count each other on our graduation day.

CSDA Denver Location!!

We the Students at CSDA Denver Location are having fun and experiential learning since the start of the program. Our class consist of 11 students, 3 guys and the rest girls!!! The atmosphere in our class is friendly and pretty much interesting as it is very diverse all from different works of life!!

The students are all determine and willing to learn to become dental assisting as a stepping stone in the growing industry of dentistry. There is a need for our services as Dental assisting and much more the opportunity to gain in such rewarding career.

The program is going smoothly and students are in the same page!!
Week One:
Was the the orientation to dentistry, we learned about the dental health teams, the organizations in dentistry, learning about tooth, the anatomy, the tooth types, surfaces, charting techniques. human dentition, numbering system , cavity classification and charting with symbol usable in examination of the tooth.

The lab work is quite interesting and fun.. . At first we all are nervous in some degree by opening your partners mouth for the first time. The issue of invading some ones space became more prevalence, but at the end we all laughed about it and it was a good experience.

Finally note, we are all grateful to have wonderful team of instructors, Monica and Kelly all phenomenal. They know the trade in Dental Assisting and their experience is impeccable. Precise explanation, confident in the delivering of the material, the lecture tone is excellent and overall we are all satisfied.

As the week goes, I will be posting feed backs from our classes with pictures and videos.

Proud to be a student of CSDA!!!(Colorado School Of Dental Assisting). Wish you all the best and readers if you are not a student of CSDA, I wish you can join!

If I could... I'd do it again!!!

Colorado School of Dental Assisting (CSDA) was one of my greatest opportunities to fulfill my passion for dentistry. Within the accelerated program I was able to connect on a one on one basis with my instructors which helped tremendously with any questions or concerns I had. The instructors made class fun and interesting. Once the students learned most of the labs we collaborated together and helped each other with each project. We were also given the opportunity to have a hands on experience with all the instruments and get a feel for what it truly would be like working in a dental office. From my experience while attending CSDA I was excited to attend class every day and see what was next on the agenda. The instructors made it fun to learn about dentistry and made sure everyone was on the same page before moving forward. CSDA was definitely a great experience and if I could do it all over again I would. Who knows... maybe I'll just register again because it was so much fun!

New to this thing...

Hello! Well this is my first time to write on this. I am pretty excited since I love to talk. I will start off that we are the first class at the NSDA School in Plano, TX and we all love it. It has been a new beginning for all of us. From the time we walked in that door and knew nothing to the time now where we are talking about Oral Maxillary Surgey, we all feel so smart ( haha ). I have had a time of my life in this program , all the new material we learn to all the great people and instructors we have met. I have made some amazing friends.

We are almost getting closer and closer to our State RDA Test and it is so nerve-racking. We have formed a study group among the girls in the class, so I am sure we will all be studying super hard, the next few weeks!!! On Sunday we were doing mouth impressions and labs like crazy, it really feels like a true work day on lab days, so my job is going to be lots of fun, I am EXCITED!

Also our class has to start looking for externships :) exciting ? It is confusing where to start, but i think we will all do great!!!

Until Next Week :)
