Nice pics from Kerri-Ann!

Hi it’s Rachel from the Broomfield location.

This is my first blog, and a lot has been going on in these past 4 weeks!  From making impressions to creating stone study models, to taking x-rays and polishing one another’s teeth!  It has been a most wonderful experience.  In 4 weeks we have learned so much and at times is has been a bit overwhelming, but our instructors, Steph and Allison, have really made this experience so worth every moment.  I can’t believe how far we have all come and yet there is so much more to learn.  Loving every minute of it! =)

Hi, it's kerri-Ann again from the Broomfield class giving a blog.

Week 5 is here & we're getting our hands dirty with x-rays & impressions! A little nerve racking I'll admit but my classmates are great. Everyone helps each other out with tips, encouragement & tons of patience since we work on each other. Between them & our incredible teachers I'm having the best experience ever!

Wow is all I can say... The amount of information that our instructors are giving us is overwhelming but really exciting at the same time. I never knew that I would know as much information that I do now and its only been 2 weeks. This week we practiced fluoride treatment on each other, what fun that was. I cannot wait to see what we will learn in week 3. As overwhelming all this is (like my instructor likes to say "Its like drinking from a fire hydrant")  we have a great group of people and 2 awesome instructors that are with us every step of the way and their a shoulder to lean on if any one of us ever need help. I have a good feeling about the rest of the session!

Going back to school after so many years was both nerve racking and scary. Both instructors took all that fear away. They've made the class fun, answer all questions we may have & encourage us to participate. After just one week I've learned so much and have so much more confidence in myself. Can't wait to see how this unfolds!

Week 4 from Broomfield and its time for some x-rays! I enjoyed this week and practicing the fmx. Mounting is hard at first but its like a big puzzle that you get better at as you practice. Looking forward to next week and learning about dental dams and more.

I can't believe we're only going into week 4 of the class! We have gone over so much information already with taking each others impressions, pouring study models and charting our teeth.  Next week is Radiology which will be really interesting I can't wait. This program has definitely been a great choice for me, the classes are small which is helpful in learning it all in such a short amount of time and not to mention our instructors are great!! :)  I'm excited to jump into the field and get started as a Dental Assist when it's finished in a few more weeks!

Hello, coming to you from the class in Broomfield Colorado. We are getting into our 3rd week of class and its already going by fast.  I have to admit I was so nervous the first day of class it had been so long since I had been in school . When the first day was over I relized it was going to be ok,our teachers Stephanie and Oscar were so nice and down to earth and you could tell they wanted to be there and Love what they do. We are in good hands. What started out with so much info and seemed so hard is coming along with practice, our teachers and studying.  We have learned parts of the tooth, charting , personal protective equipment and more to come! Looking forward to this Sunday making and doing  impressions. (Hopefully not to much gaging will be going on). Well here's to more to come. Till the next blog!

DONE!

Well BLOG readers this is my last post :( Class is done (well almost) we will wish our teachers one last farewell on Thursday.  I've learned so much and I know I will keep learning more as I get into an office.  I feel like it was yesterday that I was walking into my class for the first time-my teachers were standing at the front of the class looking very serious, my heart sank to my stomach and I thought oh great I got the hardest teachers!!!!  Then out of the blue they made a joke and laughed and laughed.  From that moment forward I knew this would be a great class.  I don't think they ever stopped laughing :0  I will miss you guys dearly......To the next class- have a great time.

Midterms were awesome and everyone did very well. I think I speak for the whole class in saying we are really enjoying our time in Dental Assisting School.

Now if we could just get those darn x-rays down, I think we'd be GREAT!

This is my first post on here, but I will have much more to share after our next class.... Restorative Dentistry!

Mid-term/Friends and Family..........TIME?

Ok, it's been SUPER busy! Mid-terms were great-got a 100% YAY for me......We had friends and family this past weekend and despite the snow we had a great day.  Roads were nasty and it was cold but once we got to school it was fantastic.  I was really nervous to work on my person but it went well! Really glad that we are on break because the class is fast and sometimes we all just need a break :)  We are getting close to final and CPR and I can't believe how fast the 12 weeks has gone-where did the time go?  Anyway have a great week and will try to post more often but remember I am in school and need to focus on my studies ;) LOL......

Mesial,Distal,Lingual.AHHHHHHHH.  It all sounds foreign at this point and I know it will come together soon.  We have labs tonight and we are charting each others mouths.  Im nervous and excited, this is all so new and I feel like a toddler just learning to walk.  I will get my bearings soon and update you next week.

Cheers-

The instructors have said we will all have a learning curve the first few months we are on our own----I am ready, I think :)  We've taken as much info as we can so let's apply to our new careers.  I want to thank our instructors for the countless hours of instruction, I know you guys work really, really hard and I am so thankful for what you do!

Back to the books

After having a great Christmas break I'm ready to hit the books again tomorrow!!!  Ready to see what good things our instructors have in store for us.   One thing I can say about this class is we always have an exciting new way to learn.  Cheryl and Amady do a really good job of  keeping it real.  Friends and family day is coming soon and I can't wait to report back to you.
