EDDA Course

Well, after deliberating for about 8 years, the CSDA has finally decided to offer an EDDA course. The course has been approved by the Colorado Board of Education, and will start this Spring, 2011. The EDDA course will consist of 4 Saturdays at our Broomfield location, and will cover placing permanent restorations, sealants, final impressions and provisional restorations. Prospective students of this program will have to have worked for one year as a dental assistant to be admitted.

We are very excited about this new course! Check back for more updates, and to see what our students are saying.

Almost Over

So we are finally down to the final two weeks of class! I'm very excited to get out into the dental field and start applying what we have learned, I have the up most confidence in our classes ability to go out there and find great jobs.
Joyce and Judy are the best teachers that we could have ever asked for, they are always willing to go that extra mile to help us. I would definitely recommend this program to friends and family.

Colorado School of Dental Assisting Continues to Train For Second Careers

FORT COLLINS – January 13, 2011- With unemployment figures painting a bleak picture, Erin Fay, with her degree in business administration was unable to find a decent job. She dabbled in some at-home-businesses, had her own scrapbooking company, but wanted something better. As a single mom, Erin wanted a career that would allow her to support her family. She talked to some acquaintances, and discovered that dental assisting was a well-liked job, with demand and a decent wage. So, off she went to the Colorado School of Dental Assisting, in Fort Collins, to begin her new career. After graduating in January of 2010, she landed a dental assisting job at a specialist’s office in Loveland. “I am thankful for where I am in life; I have a job that I love and I am supporting my family” says Erin.

Erin wants everyone to know "CSDA is a great school for dental assisting. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the field." Thanks Erin for a great story with a happy ending!

First Day of School at Broomfield Location

The first day of school is officially in the books! We covered a ton of information today. Wow, a lot to absorb at once but fun at the same time. Joyce is truly a great instructor and I cant wait for lab on Thursday. First day and we learned to chart teeth. How exciting. This time will fly by so fast I can't wait for what is to come! Everyone seems very eager and nervous. Should be a fun term.

Almost done and kind-of sad

We are almost done with school and I have to say I am a bit sad. I came into this not expecting to meet such great women and learn so much. Monica, Katie and Shari, have been wonderful and not only were able to teach me the essentials of dental assisting, but so much more. Having these 3 women with 3 different dental backgrounds has brought a knowledge that surpassed my expectations. Katie taught us tricks ie.. to get good x-rays and help with patient comfort use their tongue as a cushion. I got a 99% on my fmx! Monica, has taught me more than any book ever could. I have my externship scheduled, I am so excited to go into the office. Thank you guys for all that you have given me, knowledge and confidence.

It is the second week in Grand Junction and we have already learned so much. It has been really amazing and exiting to learn. Rachel and Donna have been great and showing all of us just how everything works. - Misty
